The Masters don't hang on to things.
They're always doing something for other people,
so they always have more to give.
They give away whatever they have,
so what they have is worth more.
--------------------------
This is liable to misinterpretation. The Masters are benevolent, wise, powerful. But I would NEVER try to "get something" from one of them, or ask a favor of one of them, or attempt even another inch if one offered me a mile. That most people do not adhere to this (by nature . . . it cannot be a matter of "decision") is why the Masters are not accessible to most. And yet, Tao 81 is nevertheless true...They are always doing for others and giving away all they have.
